CAAT Advises Passengers to Be Prepared Before Airport Security Screening

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has issued guidance for passengers undergoing pre-flight security screening in accordance with CAAT Regulation No. 113 on Rules and Procedures for Civil Aviation Security Screening, including subsequent amendments.

The updated regulation aligns Thailand’s aviation security screening procedures with the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The objective of these revisions is to:

  • Enhance Thailand’s civil aviation security standards in line with international obligations
  • Strengthen passenger confidence
  • Reduce risks from potential threats to flight safety
  • Improve screening efficiency and minimize travel delays
    Passenger Preparation Guidelines

CAAT kindly requests passengers to prepare before entering the security checkpoint by:

  • Removing or separating items that may cause delays, such as jackets, hats, belts, watches, mobile phones, and thick-soled shoes
  • Placing such items in trays provided by the airport for X-ray screening
  • Strictly following the instructions of security personnel

Screening procedures may include:
   - Walk Through Metal Detector (WTMD)
   - Body Scanner
   - Pat-down inspection, when necessary
All procedures are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and with due respect for passengers’ rights.

These measures aim to elevate Thailand’s aviation security standards to an international level while ensuring a safe, efficient, and seamless travel experience for all passengers.
